9 Nov 21: Remember this day. Over 98% of the photo galleries became invisible. Hamster went from roughly 46,000 galleries down to 800. In my opinion, the heart and soul of Hamster, the thing that made it so special and so much fun for so many years, was the ability of users to post uncensored photos anonymously. Now those days are gone and we are bogged down in regulations. I grieve with my fellow users.

All my information comes from "mainstream media". I lost over 1200 Favorites in the great purge, so I understand how you feel. About a week ago a New York Times article and the CNN website offered a glimpse of what is happening behind the scenes. There is a strong "anti-porn" law hidden in the stimulus bill passed by the U.S. Congress. The Feds are really cracking down on (mainly) "exploitation of .... people whose birth year begins with the digit 2" and also on "copyright violations". Hamster got caught by surprise because they have not done a good job policing this site. Like you, I think they owe us a detailed explanation of all that is happening so we can decide where to go from here. I am very frustrated and disappointed at the moment, but I think I will be patient for a while and see how it all shakes out.

I examined the profiles of several users who posted photos today. As indicated by the green check mark in the upper right corner of their profile, they are "Verified Users". I believe the requirement is to submit a photo showing your face while you are holding a handwritten sign with your user ID written on it. I am not 100% sure, but I believe this verification photo does not need to appear on your profile as long as Hamster has a copy of it tied to your profile. Other classes of posters appear to be "Content Sellers" and "Friends of Hamster". I assume these statuses also require some verification of your identity.

For upload again , you must have to complete your « intro « .The introduction helps show others that you are a real person. Prove your identity by posting a photo of your face with your username written somewhere. This will help you make new friends and get noticed by other users.

3. Digitally changed usernames will not be accepted.
